As a socially-engaged person in Bulgaria, Ruth Koleva has always tried to raise awareness for various wide-spread problems in the society and especially the obnoxious and still regarded as a norm unacceptable treatment and violence towards women in particular. Domestic violence hasn’t been on the current agenda in Bulgarian society for decades and has escalated to psychological monstrosities and financial dependence, thus the album tries to raise awareness about this problem and work for female empowerment in the society as a whole.
Confidence. Truth was recorded in Los Angeles’ Red Bull Studios in 2016 over a period of several weeks with established musicians Ron Avant (Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals, Jhené Aiko), Jameel Bruuner (The Internet), Gene Coye (Flying Lotus), Georgi Linev (Kan Wakan) and Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra.
