Today XS Noize is pleased to exclusively premiere the latest track from Liverpudlian four-piece SHARDS. ‘2020 (I Want To Go Home)’, an effervescent, joyous piece of Northern Indie-Bliss built on an appealing lead hook and a raw fuzzed guitar energy. Building a strong following in their home-town, the indie-risers have breached the airwaves with support on BBC 6Music and numerous BBC Introducing slots.

The young outfit has displayed an impressive talent for combining elements of dream-pop, psychedelic and authentic UK indie in a unique, Shards style package. Their incredible output and uniquely powerful live performance has lead to notable support slots alongside the likes of Black Honey and Tim Burgess. They also performed the Marks & Spencer stage at Liverpool Digital Music Festival.

The new single ‘2020 (I Want To Go Home)’, perfectly captures the voice of a generation disillusioned by the world around it. It’s a hazy, lush piece of dream-indie, from a band with an immense future of music in front of them. Speaking on the new single they state:

“2020 encompasses the feeling of safety, nostalgia and the comfort of youth. A feeling of everything in its right place, approaching adulthood, this feeling is ripped away, revealing all the anxieties of life and coming of age.”
