Finnish pop sensation Roye is back with his new single ‘Exhausted’. A multi-talented, singer, songwriter and studio engineer, Roye records and produces all his own material bringing together analogue synths with modern pop production to create his own unique alt-pop sound.

The new single ‘Exhausted’ is a prime example of Roye’s talent. Opening with atmospheric, reverb soaked synths and samples under his stylistic, chilled vocal delivery, the track builds towards the explosive drop at 47 seconds in. Awash with lightly strummed acoustic guitar, breathy vocal harmonies, punching drums and deep bass, Roye’s almost shouted lead vocals is a biting expression of pure emotion that hits hard while still remaining catchy.

Speaking on the new single Roye said: “I wrote first version of Exhausted together with my friend Joona Moilanen just before moving to Berlin in 2019. I was moving out of my home for 20 years, alone to a different country. I had to leave all my friends, relationships, job, etc. behind and I was so exhausted about starting totally from scratch. I had worked 4 jobs (Sales, Coaching, Gigs, Booking Agency) at the same time that spring and was about to burn-out, before quitting most of it at the same time. In the writing-session I had to keep on saying, that I don’t want the song to be a love song but rather about Burning Out and depression. I finished the writing and production of the song early 2021.”

Having established himself with a number of releases since 2019, Roye has earned regular support from Spotify Editorial playlists and built a solid fan base. Now heading into 2021 with a selection of new releases Roye is surely set to become a household name on the European pop scene.
