Sundara Karma have shared punchy new single ‘Baby Blue.’ Fizzing with the frenetic energy that perfectly encapsulates the feeling of falling in love, sonically, ‘Baby Blue’ is a sugary rush of effervescent guitars and charging drums which marry together to create another slice of uplifting, euphoric indie.
Explaining the track in more detail, vocalist Oscar Pollock says, “It’s not common for me to write a structured chord progression and vocal melody for an entire song in one sitting, but that’s exactly how this song came together. Surprisingly, it flowed effortlessly, much to my delight. Drawing from the melody and the overall vibe, I knew the sentiment had to be super relatable. I asked myself, ‘What could be more relatable than falling for someone you know will eventually destroy you?’ Falling in love fills an emptiness within me; it truly makes all the bad things in my life go away. However, it’s selfish to approach love like this and the price is undeniably heavy.”
“With that in mind, I set myself the task of creating a character—a person onto whom I could project all the lost love in my life, someone who would serve as the centrepiece of the song’s story. Enter ‘Blue,’ also known as ‘Baby Blue’—the embodiment of the person we all want, and perhaps even attain, but can never keep,” he continues.

The track is taken from the four-piece’s new album ‘Better Luck Next Time’, recorded with producer Rich Turvey (Blossoms, Courteeners, The Wombats), and is a collection of nine songs which explode with the exuberant indie effervescence that informed the sound of the band’s debut album. To celebrate the release of their third studio album, Sundara Karma will also be hitting the road on an extensive UK tour planned for this November and December. It sees the band take on eighteen headline gigs around the UK this winter, culminating in a dazzling show in the capital at Electric Ballroom in Camden on the 13th of December.
Last month Sundara Karma made their triumphant return with brand new single ‘Friends of Mine’. Revisiting their euphoric indie roots, whilst simultaneously ushering in a new era for the four-piece, the comeback track is a rallying call to arms, soaked in shimmering guitar riffs and big, bolstered percussion, much akin to the sounds pouring out of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Youth Is Only Ever Fun In Retrospect’.
