Off Bloom today released the video for latest track ‘ Am I Insane?’, their first single in almost a year. The band also announced a number of European tour dates including a return to London with a headline show at the Electrowerkz on 23rd October 2019.
Filmed entirely on a hand-held digital camera in the band’s hometown of Copenhagen earlier this summer, the video for ‘Am I Insane?’ sees the Anglo-Danish trio embrace a guerrilla-style which focuses on the track’s lyrics, in a salute to the iconic video for Bob Dylan’s Subterranean Homesick Blues.
‘Am I Insane?’ is a buoyant yet thoughtful exploration of the current cultural focus on social media. The track was written during band members Mads, Alex and Mette’s recent self-imposed break from the digital world. The song-writing process saw the band revisit the musical roots of their ‘90s childhoods, a time when the internet still felt simply fun and exciting and full of potential.
The result is a fresh sonic direction for Off Bloom, one which retains their unique pop sound while embracing a newfound freedom of expression and an organic, stripped back, guitar-led sound.
