Rumours of Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan following up his work with the Soulsavers after their 2012 collaboration “The Light The Dead See” occurred around September last year, before they started to grow legs around January when it was claimed a second offering was in the works and could see the light of day in late 2015. This of course was supposition taken from a Soulsavers Instagram pic of a soundboard and then with a further pic of Electric Lady studios in Greenwich, which could only mean one thing, Rich Machin and Ian Glover must be there in NYC to demo with Dave Gahan.
The rumours of some imminent release had water somewhat poured on them by Rich Machin though around March time when he was quoted as saying in an interview “I've actually already been doing quite a lot of work with Dave [Gahan] recently on a new project. I don't think that's any secret. Sadly we live in an age of social media, where a small rumour causes speculation to explode. But at the moment there's nothing to tell still. I'm not sure if we have even decided on what that project is going to be yet. Its a comfortable progression on from what we did on the Soulsavers record. “. “This time around we've got more open diaries so we can take our time, get a record out later this year or maybe early next year and then have enough material to get out there and play some shows. Were not in any rush this time, which is nice. But at the moment there's not much to tell”.
Well now there appears to be something to tell! For all the cyber speculation and hearsay at the beginning of the year it appears Gahan has completed recording the second album with Machin and Glover, if Music royalty website repertoire.bmi.com is anything to go by. The website lists songs written by all artists, and since August 19th 2015 has included 10 new tracks credited to Gahan, Machin and Glover from this upcoming release that are listed below in their alphabetical order.
