Janie Price aka ‘Bird’ is a half English, half Irish London based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She has just finished recording her new album ‘Figments of Our Imagination’, due to be released this summer.
The album showcases her multi-instrumental skills as she plays every recorded instrument herself. The first track to be released, ‘The Dare’, gives a taste of what’s to come. Produced by legendary Rolling Stones producer, Chris Kimsey in London and mixed by Lee Groves (Goldfrapp, Elbow) in New York, it brings Bird’s quirky, individual sound to a new level.

Bird started her classical music training on cello aged six, before beginning her professional music career aged 18, composing and recording strings for a UK rap act. This heralded the start of a session career which saw her working and touring with numerous artists, most notably a world tour with internationally acclaimed violinist Vanessa Mae as well as composing and recording strings for Just Jack and Emeli Sande.
In 2010 Bird was invited to star in a 6-episode TV programme for Sky Arts. ‘Art of Survival’ followed her playing live across Europe, airing in 2011 on Sky where regular repeats can still be found on Sky Arts 1.
2015 looks set to be a very exciting year for Bird. Live dates to be announced shortly.
