Nothing But Thieves is an indie-rock band formed in 2012 in Essex, UK. Currently, the band is one of the most successful indie acts and this year’s tour is proof of that.
The show in Nottingham kicked off with loud, energetic “Futureproof” – a song released this year. The crowd immediately started jumping. The second tune – “Real Love Song” – has a calmer melody but it still got people moving and singing their lungs off.
One of the band’s keys to success is not only their high-level skills with instruments but also their frontman’s – Conor Mason’s soothing and melodious vocal timbre that creates a unique atmosphere with whichever song the band are playing.
The band played a short but impressive instrumental solo between “Sorry” and “Forever and Ever More”. “Miracle, Baby” that was played next is a slower song that was also released this year. The next came “Graveyard Whistling” – one of the band’s most well-known singles, and the crowd was singing together with the band.
During the upbeat “Is Everybody Going Crazy?” the audience did exactly what the song title asked – they went crazy! The final song, “Amsterdam”, was a great way to finish the gig with a bang. The band couldn’t leave without an encore and played not one, but two songs: “I’m Not Made by Design” and “Impossible”.
Nothing But Thieves isn’t just an ordinary indie band. Their sound has unique features and you can’t mistake them from any other band. We congratulate the band on their success, and we can’t wait to hear the material they’ll release in the future.
