We’ve been following Kelly Oliver with interest over the last six months when we became aware of her second album release, Bedlam. We were so impressed that we featured her in a showcase and we remarked “Once in a blue moon I hear something worth sharing and Kelly’s music is just that”.
Tom Day then took the opportunity to see Kelly live and was even more impressed with her stage presence and delivery “Her mastery of the guitar is more obvious live and while her concentration is more obvious away from the mic, she makes even her most complex walking riffs seem easy. All in all her set, while short, was excellent and I for one, look forward to catching a longer set when she next headlines.”
So we are delighted to be able to share this brand new video with you. Rio was written by Kelly and Nigel Stonier who also produced the track and Thea Gilmore guests on backing vocals. Inspired by her travels in Brazil, it was while in Rio that Kelly made the decision to follow her heart and start performing her original songs. This was in 2013. The song extols the virtues of the vibrant city and Kelly’s yearning to return, to thank the city for changing her life.
Enjoy her summery video BELOW:
