Peluché were born like a phoenix from the ashes when the previous incarnation ‘Keebo’ ran its natural course. Writing started under this new guise in the early months of 2014 and Peluché have been captivating London audiences for the past 6 months. The new line up began
recording their debut works with London producer Oli Bayston (Willy Mayson /TOY) who, with debut single “Ohio” has managed to harken nods to Paul Simon’s Graceland and Liverpool’s Stealing Sheep whilst fully allowing the trio to display a refreshing uniqueness of their own.
Peluché create dreamy, enchanting pop bliss through beautiful ethereal harmonies, worldly bass grooves and counter intuitive twists. Rhapsody Gonzalez (Vocals / Guitar / Synth), Amy Maskell (Vocals / Guitar / Synth) & Sophie Lowe (Vocals / Drums / Synth) – make up the 3 piece and their approach to writing can be found through jamming in their makeshift “Peluché Shed”. Pink Velvet curtains, a dirty green carpet and cardboard boxes seems fitting to the music they create – beautifully DIY, an air of elegance but all brought down to earth with an almost childlike way to creating music in the most fun way possible.
This winter Peluché will be locked up in “Peluché Shed” writing their debut album. This will be preceded by further single releases on RIP Records. Despite being yet to release, the girls have already caught the eye of promoters and bands alike and have been asked to support John Steel Singers and showcase their vast talents at Bristol festival Simple Things.
