The Gallagher brothers will mark their first performance together since their split in 2009 with a reunion tour. With Gallagher’s chemistry and electrifying sets of Britpop classics, “Oasis’ 2025 reunion tour” will be a spine-tingling event.

After a 15-year hiatus, Oasis is back with their highly anticipated world tour, “Oasis Live ’25 Tour.” The announcement was made on August 27, 2024, just before the 30th anniversary of their debut album, “Definitely Maybe.”

The tour reunites Liam and Noel Gallagher, whose infamous feud led to the band’s split in 2009. The tour will kick off at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 4, 2025. The return of the Britpop band has seen a significant increase in their Spotify monthly listeners and streams.

It promises to be a high-energy performance and a nostalgic celebration of the band’s legacy. Despite controversies over dynamic pricing and ticket sales, the demand has revealed that Oasis is still one of the best live performers. The reunion will be a historic moment in rock music that can only be enjoyed live.

The band’s reunion

Oasis reuniting after many years on a break is a triumph over one of rock’s most notorious feuds. The band was formed in Manchester in 1981 and led by Liam and Noel Gallagher. Their moment came with the release of their debut album, “Definitely Maybe,” in 1994 and (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? in 1995.

The band’s 2009 split was triggered by an altercation at Rock en Seine festival. The brothers took the disagreement to the media, sniping at each other at any given chance. Liam went on to form Beady Eye, while Noel formed High Flying Birds, both achieving success, but neither matched their impact during their Oasis days.

Reunion rumours swirled for years, and finally, the tension thawed in 2017 when Liam tweeted Christmas wishes to Noel, and in 2024, Noel praised Liam’s vocals in a “Definitely Maybe” video.

The tour was teased on August 25, 2024, with cryptic social media posts and a clip that showed Liam during the Reading Festival set. On August 27, Oasis confirmed tour rumours, stating, “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned.” With no new album planned, the tour focuses on celebrating Oasis’ rich catalogue, proving their anthems still resonate across generations.

General overview of the tour

The “Oasis Live ’25 Tour” is where you will see Liam and Noel Gallagher perform their first shows together since 2009. The tour initially comprised 17 UK and Ireland dates but was expanded due to unprecedented demand, adding three shows in Manchester, London, and Edinburgh.

The Britpop band will now play on five continents, with performances in North and South America, Asia, and Australia, running from July 4 to November 23, 2025. The tour has sold out most European dates, with over 50,000 Oasis tickets later cancelled and resold at face value to combat scalping.

The tour kicks off at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, followed by five nights in their hometown at Manchester’s Heaton Park. London’s Wembley Stadium will host seven shows, including two invitation-only ballot dates on September 27 and 28, to address ticketing controversies.

Edinburgh’s Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium and Dublin’s Croke Park round out the UK/Ireland leg. North American dates include Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Los Angeles, and Mexico City, with Cage the Elephant supporting these dates. South American shows in Buenos Aires, Santiago, and São Paulo sold out rapidly, with over 130,000 tickets for Brazil’s MorumBIS stadium sold in under an hour. Asian dates in South Korea and Japan, as well as Australian shows, were later confirmed.

Cast and Richard Ashcroft will support “Oasis Live ’25” UK/Ireland shows. Cast’s Britpop roots and Ashcroft’s musical style complement Oasis’ sound, while the Gallagher brothers’ charisma, Liam’s vocals, and Noel’s guitar mastery remain the key components. The backing band, including Bonehead, Andy Bell, Gem Archer, and drummer Joey Waronker, merges original members with seasoned players.

Ticketing faced heavy scrutiny, with dynamic pricing inflating prices for some UK fans, prompting the UK government to investigate and a subsequent Competition and Markets Authority inquiry. Oasis countered by cancelling scalped tickets and introducing the Wembley ballot.

The aim was to avoid another dynamic pricing scandal, though floor seats remained pricey. Despite these challenges, the tour has reached multiple continents, reflecting Oasis’ enduring appeal. With 21.5 million monthly Spotify listeners and a Gen Z fanbase alongside ’90s devotees, the tour is a highlight of the summer.

Furthermore, the band is only focused on the tour; it is not a prelude to new music. Liam debunked album rumours on X, emphasising the focus on live performances. Oasis explicitly ruled out festivals like Glastonbury 2025, making these stadium shows the only way to see them live.

What to expect on opening night in Cardiff

The “Oasis Live ’25 Tour” will begin with a seismic double-header at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 4 and 5, 2025, setting the stage for a monumental reunion.

As the first performances since the band’s acrimonious split in 2009, these shows carry immense weight for fans with Oasis Cardiff tickets who have waited over a decade to see Liam and Noel Gallagher share a stage.

The evening will begin with performances from support acts Cast and Richard Ashcroft. Cast, led by John Power, will deliver hits like “Flying” and “Live the Dream.”

Ashcroft is the ex-frontman of The Verve; his soulful gravitas will serenade the Principality Stadium with songs like “Bitter Sweet Symphony.” Noel Gallagher once dubbed him “Captain Rock,” and their mutual respect ensures a warm reception.

As Oasis takes the stage, the atmosphere will be electric, the excitement livid. The band, comprising Liam and Noel, alongside guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, bassist Andy Bell, guitarist Gem Archer, and drummer Joey Waronker, will deliver a set that will buzz Cardiff with anticipation.

Waronker is a seasoned drummer who played with Liam and John Squire; he adds a fresh dynamic to the team. Fans can expect a visual spectacle featuring massive LED screens and lighting reminiscent of their 1996 Knebworth shows but modernised for the stadium scale of 2025. The setlist remains unconfirmed; however, it is teased to include classics like “Acquiesce” and “Champagne Supernova.”

The Cardiff crowd will be a mix of lifelong fans and Gen Z devotees, singing anthems that defined the ’90s. Liam’s swaggering vocals and Noel’s searing guitar riffs remain the heartbeat of Oasis’ live experience. However, Liam’s cryptic X post suggesting a “59 minutes 59 secs” runtime sparked concern, likely a jest, as complete sets are expected to span 90-120 minutes based on their past tours.
