Live Review: Walking on Cars – Pyramids Centre, Portsmouth 2

Walking on Cars performed a blazing debut show at Portsmouth’s Pyramids Centre. The band came on to the stage for their final night of their UK tour (minus London) and instantly made an impact to the small crowd that had gathered. Starting off with their hit Tick Tock which got the crowd warmed up and singing along. It was a shame that the gig wasn’t sold out and that maybe the Wedgewood Rooms would have been better suited for their gig as they are not so well known in UK as they are in Northern and Republic of Ireland. However, despite of this you really wouldn’t have had any idea that the crowd was small everyone got involved.

Anyone though that didn’t go to the gig have seriously missed out. The band command the stage and the mixed crowd of men, women, boys and girls hung on to frontman Patrick Sheehy’s every word. The band gelled together on the stage but they have really been plucked from obscurity and appeared out of nowhere. Yes, their music is fabulous but they are not as big in the UK as they are in Ireland.

Walking on Cars

The band are now off to America for a few weeks before coming back to the UK to headline at Camden Roundhouse, which is not sold out so if you have not seen Walking On Cars and can make it to London go check them out.
