2nd single ‘EZ’ from Canadian producer-singer-songwriter rsun’s forthcoming album ‘QUEEN OF SWORDS’ is a beautifully chilled slice of electronica mixed with silky, heartfelt vocals
EZ is about those blessed moments when love feels easy, as rsun explains:
“I generally make art for and from sadness; this is the only happy song on the record. I think I initially wrote this song from a place of bliss, but by the time I was editing it, it was painful to look back on a snapshot of sunshine and butterflies in an otherwise doomed relationship. But I think it’s important to voice that feeling of ease, when love feels right and makes life beautiful. There’s a reason we keep trying.” – rsun
On the technical production side, this was the second song that R Sun ever built in the Ableton software, and her first time using a drum machine although you wouldn’t know by the glossy, warm production and intricate electronic backing beneath her silky vocals. “I make laptop songs in a purple room with my cats.” – rsun
