The Bluetones, the legendary British indie rock band hailing from West London, have officially announced the release of their highly anticipated new EP, marking their first new music since 2010. This fresh release, which also inaugurates the band’s very own label, Brainhole Records, is the first of a trilogy set to roll out over the next 6-8 months.
Formed in 1993, The Bluetones quickly established themselves as a force in the UK music scene with thirteen Top 40 singles and three Top 10 albums. Although the band first rose to prominence during the Britpop era, their influence and artistry have never wavered. After years of successful tours and revisiting their iconic back catalogue, the band is ready to share their next chapter with the world.
“For the first time since we formed the music isn’t driven by an outside agenda, or a need to fill somebody else’s schedule. It feels like the purest thing we’ve done since we were a signed band” says frontman Mark Morriss.
The lead single from the EP, titled “Drive Thru”, encapsulates the renewed sense of urgency and passion that has fueled The Bluetones’ return to the studio. “This song is about abandoning the past and embracing the unknown,” Morriss further explains. “It’s about not being tied down by other people’s perceptions of you and just going for it. Plus, it rocks.”

“Drive Thru” is a powerful reminder of the band’s unique chemistry—a blend of instinctive writing, tight arrangements, and the kind of unspoken bond that only decades of collaboration can forge. Over the years, The Bluetones have kept the same lineup with Mark Morriss on vocals, Adam Devlin on guitar, Scott Morriss on bass, and Eds Chesters on drums. The EP signals not just a return, but a reinvention, and is already being hailed as one of their most exhilarating releases to date.
To celebrate their comeback, The Bluetones will embark on a UK/Irish tour, bringing their new music to life on stage alongside the classics that have cemented their status as one of Britain’s most enduring indie bands. Get Tickets here.
