Laura Pergolizzi, aka LP, is one of the most well-known American singers and songwriters. After her tour was postponed, the singer finally visited Leeds and performed her most successful tunes, as well as her new material from the latest album ‘Churches’.
The atmosphere of the gig was highly positive. Loud cheering and clapping from the impressed audience in between songs left LP speechless, and she constantly thanked everyone for such a warm welcome. During her performance, she took people’s phones from the front row, filmed herself and the audience for a couple of seconds, and took albums and cards from her fans to leave autographs.
It was obvious that Laura genuinely loves what she’s doing and loves her fans and people who come to her shows. The way she controlled her voice, whistles and high notes was incredible. LP is one of the singers who has to be appreciated live because no studio recording will ever showcase her talent fully.
Not to mention her marvellous charisma and personality. The very last song Laura performed was her most popular single, ‘Lost on You’, and the audience sang along louder than LP herself. It felt like a church choir. So if you ever have a chance to see her performing live, don’t second guess it and go. She will amaze you.
