It is no longer a rumor that the iconic British rock band, Oasis will reunite in 2025, 16 years after their split. Noel and Liam Gallagher announced their reunion with an Instagram post on 25 August 2024. They stated, “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.” A black-and-white image of the brothers, both dressed in dark jackets, was released with the statement.
Their reunion was further confirmed after the band released a 17-date UK tour that will be taking place in 2025.
Since their infamous breakup in 2009, Oasis have been on an indefinite hiatus. Their return did not seem possible after fierce confrontations between the Gallagher brothers. But the estranged brothers have decided to put their feud aside and perform, probably, one last show for their fans.
However, there was no mention of the original band mates, Paul Arthurs a.k.a Bonehead, bassist Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan and Tony McCaroll joining the brothers on the tour. Fans are hoping that the Britpop brotherhood will unite and perform together next year.
Liam and Noel Gallagher have not performed together since 2009. But, regularly, on solo gigs, they have performed Oasis songs. The Oasis Live ’25 World Tour will be an opportunity to witness the British Rock band perform. They have promised fans that they should expect an experience, “the spark and intensity” that occurs when they are on stage together.
Dates for Oasis 25 will include a run of shows at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff on 4-5 July. They will travel to London and perform a series of shows in July and August at the Wembley Stadium, London. You can also watch them play together at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield, Edinburgh and at Crooke Park in Dublin, Ireland.
TOUR SCHEDULE
The “Oasis Live ’25 Tour” will feature 19 concerts spanning five cities and five stadiums across the UK. Kicking off on July 4 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in Wales, the band will then perform at Heaton Park in Manchester before heading to London’s Wembley Stadium, where they will entertain fans for five consecutive nights from July 25 to August 3.
The band’s next stop will be Scotland, where they are set to perform a three-night show at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh from August 8 to 12. Following that, Ireland will have the opportunity to experience the legendary band’s performance with two shows at Croke Park in Dublin from August 12 to 17. The tour will wrap up with a second leg in London at Wembley Stadium on September 27 and 28.
OASIS IN MANCHESTER
The Gallagher brothers have decided to bury the hatchet and reunite for the first time in 15 years for a series of stadium concerts. Dates for their tour have been released including shows in their hometown, Manchester in the United Kingdom, where the band was formed in 1991.
Oasis will perform at Heaton Park, Manchester on 11, 12, 16, 19, and 20 July 2025. About 80,000 fans are expected at each of the band’s live shows. It will be a homecoming celebration for the brothers, as fans in their hometown are particularly excited to watch their homeboys play together again.
The British rock band had announced that the only way to see them perform was to be at their Oasis Live “23 World Tour. Three extra dates had to be added to their reunion tour because of the overwhelming demand for the pre-sales of tickets.
However, the Manchester City Council released a statement that they will not foot the bill for Oasis’ hometown shows. John Hacking, Manchester’s executive announced that additional costs such as extra toilets and security arrangements will be handled by the band and no extra cost will come from the public purse. Tickets for their homecoming will sell out quickly.
The set list for the tour is unpredictable, since their breakup in 2009 the band has not released any song. The band performed their last live gig 15 years ago while they were on their “Dig Out Your Soul” tour.
However, they have an extensive back catalogue of classic hits and fan favourites to select from such as “Supersonic”, “Live Forever”, “Wonderwall”, and “Don’t Look Back in Anger”
The reunion tour will probably be the band’s most exciting tour in terms of production. Fans are eager to see what style the band will incorporate into their live events.
