Today, critically acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter Chet Faker officially kicks off the exciting next chapter of his storied career with the announce of his new album A Love For Strangers, slated for release on February 13th 2026 on BMG.

In the meantime, he offers a scintillating taste of what’s to come with his gorgeously rousing new single “This Time For Real”, a potent, irresistible reminder of his inimitable way with an earworm hook. It also comes accompanied by a vibrant, playful video of Chet Faker travelling through the iconic landscapes of NYC on a jetski, sports car and pedicab. Watch the official video BELOW:

“This Time for Real” finds Chet Faker at his effortlessly anthemic best, not to mention his most cheekily self-referential, as he addresses the balanced weight of expectation that comes with success as an artist. It acts as the perfect scene setter for A Love For Strangers, which sees Nick Murphy – the ARIA-winning songwriter, musician, and producer behind Chet Faker – coming full circle and returning to the sense of restless exploration that led him to make music as Chet Faker in the first place.

The follow-up to 2021’s Hotel Surrender, A Love For Strangers emerged from a sense of personal rediscovery that was sharpened after the 10 year anniversary of his debut full-length, the sensational and career-ascendant Built on Glass. In a career defined by restless creativity – spanning albums under his birth name Nick Murphy, including the lauded instrumental work Music for Silence, and collaborations with artists like Flume and Marcus Marr – A Love For Strangers offers yet more proof that Chet Faker’s extraordinary musical explorations are only just beginning.

Chet Faker headlines tonight in London at HERE at Outernet.
