WarKings Announce Fifth Album – Armageddon

WarKings

Since WarKings formed in 2018, they have cemented their place within the music industry. They have played at some of the biggest stages in Europe and have exploded in popularity. The band’s members each correspond to a historical figure, and dress as such on stage. You have a Crusader, Spartan, Nordic Warrior, and Roman Tribune, all of which support the themes of their growing catalogue of songs.

WarKings are Helping to Bring History Back to Life

With songs like Ave Roma, Maximus and Spartacus, WarKings are providing a gateway for fans to learn more about history in a fun and exciting format. They also have songs that refer to the Viking age, with Kings of Ragnarök, Odin’s Sons and Ragnar.

This approach has helped to make them very successful, too, but music isn’t the only format that’s adopting new ways to highlight different periods of history for modern audiences. Games like Crusader Kings allow you to take charge of different people over the ages, and in iGaming, Paddy’s casino games often showcase different historical periods. From Gladiator: Road to Rome to Mummy’s Jewels and Age of the Gods, modern entertainment has the ability to bring history to life, while putting a spotlight on different periods.

WarKings are taking things one step further as well, with the release of songs like Genghis Khan. A song from the new album, this track goes into the master of horseback, and the battles he faced. Coincidently, power metal legends Sabaton have also released a song called Hordes of Khan recently, and with bands like Amon Amarth and Ex Deo also experiencing immense success, it really does go to show how historically-accurate songs are here to stay. This is also clearly something that WarKings are looking to capitalise on, much to the delight of history buffs from around the world.

Mighty Anthems and Epic Battles

The five people in WarKings each have their own identity, with their fifth album covering some of the most pivotal moments in history. Some of the topics they are touching on in the new album include the Viking raid on Lindisfarne and the fall of the Knights Templar, with the song Hangman’s Night. The album has been produced by Felix Heldt, and it has been mixed by Jacon Hansen. He’s worked with Powerwolf, Volbeat, and Amaranthe in the past. The band has also chosen to team up with other musicians to write more battle hymns. This includes Eike Freese, who has worked with Lord of the Lost. Jan S. Mischon from Saltatio Mortis.

One thing that the new album touches on is that history is not just written by rulers. It’s shaped by the people who fought for what they thought was right, and the fearless warriors who made their mark on history. The album Armageddon features relentless energy and is set to be their biggest release yet. Even though the band has covered prominent topics in the past, with one of them being Ancient Rome, they have shown with their new album that they are not afraid to touch on new and epic battles. This should give them new musical creativity, and it should also allow them to branch out and really make their mark on the power metal genre as a whole.
