TRACK OF THE DAY: SALFORD SORCERERS - MAGICMAN

Mr David McCarthy and Mr Anthony Malzard are Salford Sorcerers and their first white label promo received airplay from Nemone on 6Music and quickly became the station’s ‘Beat Of The Week’.

A swift bidding war followed: “The next day BMG and Universal got in touch and wanted us to sell our souls, but a few days later Corsair wanted only to buy our hearts,” one of the Sorcerers explained.

Citing “Love, Chaos, Chemicals and the Funky Drummer” and “Yoko Ono, Sonny Bono” as influences, Salford Sorcerers say they sound like “If The Gaslamp Killer was from Lancashire.”

In actual fact the noise they make is best summed up by a pinned tweet on their Twitter feed which says “we follow nobody”… With 23 tracks in various stages of completion, their first album will be out early in 2016.
