The legends of Britpop have risen from the ashes and are gearing up to kick off their highly anticipated world tour on July 4, 2024.

Reunited after 16 years, Oasis is set to unleash a 23-song setlist at their reunion tour, “Oasis Live ’25.” “Oasis Live ’25” marks the band’s first joint appearance since 2009, following a split that seemed irreparable.

With 900,000 fans snapping up tickets for 41 shows across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, the global appetite for Oasis’s anthems remains insatiable.

The tour will be kicking off on July 4, 2025, at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. Ahead of opening night, a large drone display showing the classic Oasis logo lit up Cardiff’s sky, setting the stage for a historic opening night. As the band prepares to weave through decades of classics, the world watches in anticipation, eager to relive the swagger and soul of the ’90s Britpop kings.

Tour overview

The band’s reunion tour is a monumental 41-date global run, reuniting Noel and Liam Gallagher after a 16-year hiatus, sparked by a backstage clash in 2009. Opening night is at the iconic Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The band will tour the UK, Ireland, Japan, South Korea, North America, Central America, and South America, concluding in São Paulo, Brazil, on November 23. With a reported figure of 1.5 million UK Oasis tickets sold to over 14 million hopefuls, the demand emphasises Oasis’s enduring legacy.

The tour features a refreshed lineup, including drummer Joey Waronker and guitarists Andy Bell, Gem Archer, and Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs. With support acts like Richard Ashcroft of The Verve and Cast, the tour is poised to be a Britpop revival festival.

Cardiff’s opening nights will host 75,000 fans each, setting a high bar, with local businesses buzzing from the influx. Manchester’s Heaton Park follows with five shows, then London’s Wembley Stadium for six. Fans can still buy Oasis London tickets for the historic tour before the band heads off for international legs in Toronto, Japan, and beyond.

Despite rumours of lingering tensions, the brothers assured fans of their commitment to the tour. They have structured contracts that ensure that they only get paid after their performances, following their volatile history. Although fans remain undeterred, with some paying high fees for last-minute seats, the atmosphere in Cardiff will be electric.

Opening night in Cardiff and more

Cardiff’s Principality Stadium has been a beacon, drawing Oasis fans to its grounds. Seventy-five thousand fans are anticipating the rebirth of Britpop as Oasis launches their reunion tour, “Oasis Live ’25.”

The Welsh capital buzzed with anticipation, with Noel Gallagher arriving by train on July 2 and soundchecks leaking snippets of “Cigarettes & Alcohol” and “Wonderwall.”

Many fans have travelled from as far as Colombia and Taiwan, camping outside since Wednesday, fuelled by the promise of seeing Noel and Liam Gallagher share a stage for the first time since 2009.

The show has kicked off brightly, with a drone show spelling out “OASIS” illuminating the sky, and local pubs like City Arms bracing for crowds rivalling those of rugby weekends. Richard Ashcroft will open first, followed by Oasis at 8:15 PM, delivering a 23-song setlist as a celebration of their ’90s heyday. Despite reports of Liam leaving rehearsals early, the brothers are prepared to deliver till the end.

The band’s next stop will be five nights at Manchester’s Heaton Park on July 11, 12, 16, 19, and 20. These shows are a suitable homecoming for the Manchester-born band. It promises to be emotional, with locals already voicing concerns about what preparations are being made to accommodate the expected rowdy crowds.

The band’s history at Heaton Park, including iconic 2009 gigs, adds weight to these performances, evoking memories of their early days at venues like the Boardwalk. The setlist is super packed with anthems that will resonate deeply in their hometown, where songs like “Supersonic” were forged.

Six Wembley shows follow on July 25, 26, and 30; August 2 and 3; and September 27 and 28, reminding fans old and new of the band’s ability to fill huge stadiums. Wembley is a venue synonymous with their 2000 and 2008 triumphs and will host fans like Meg Mathews, Noel’s ex, who confirmed her attendance for the July 25 show. Anais Gallagher, Noel’s daughter, who was instrumental in the reunion and setlist curation, may also attend in a bid to quell fan fears of any unsettled discord.

These shows will be a spectacle, with the band’s black-and-white logo plastered across the capital. After the UK, Oasis jets to Toronto, Japan, South Korea, and South America, wrapping up in São Paulo. Each date carries the weight of history, with fans hoping the Gallaghers’ fragile truce holds till the end.

Confirmed setlist for the Cardiff shows

The rock ‘n’ roll band has revealed a 23-song setlist for their reunion tour, a meticulously crafted lineup that balances their classic hits with beloved deep cuts. The show will open with “Acquiesce” from their first 1995 album, “The Masterplan.”

This track is a fan favourite, as it captures the Gallagher brothers’ harmony, making it a perfect opener to signal unity after years of strife. Its anthemic energy will electrify Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, rallying 75,000 fans into a sing-along frenzy. Following with “Morning Glory,” the title track from their 1995 masterpiece of the same name.

With hard riffs and bold lyrics (“All your dreams are made!”), the show will begin with a high-octane performance, igniting the crowd with ’90s bravado. “Supersonic” is the sixth track on the setlist, a raw, chaotic gem from “Definitely Maybe.” Its gritty riff and carefree attitude embody the band’s early punk sound, making it ideal for rekindling the youthful spirit of their Manchester roots.

Mid-set, the band will play “Half the World Away,” which offers a tender moment, with Noel’s melodic lyrics and acoustic warmth contrasting the band’s bombastic sound.

Other timeless crowd-pleasers that have made the setlist include “Slide Away,” “Live Forever,” and the finale trio, “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” “Wonderwall,” and “Champagne Supernova.” These anthems are a masterclass in crowd euphoria, and the band hopes to harness the 16-year-old energy from the crowd to deliver a spectacle that has never been witnessed before.

This lineup is a testament to the band’s enduring legacy, a time capsule to an era where Britpop was the life of the party. “Oasis Live ’25” is the renaissance of the band and Britpop.
