Ride guitarist and songwriter Andy Bell revisits his single ‘i’m in love…’ (a cover of The Passions’ 1981 post-punk / proto-shoegaze classic) with an expansive remix under his GLOK moniker which adds a dubbier, techno twist which – thanks to the guest vocals of Dot Allison – is not a million miles from One Dove.
It’s out now on all digital platforms. Watch the visualiser for the remix by Chris Tomsett aka Innerstrings below.
The original version is featured on Andy’s forthcoming third solo album pinball wanderer which is released on February 28.
“I’m not sure how good I am at remixing my own material but I certainly enjoyed doing this,”says Andy of the new version.
“I worked mainly from the elements of the recording which weren’t spotlighted on the main version, so there are a lot of the original drums and bass guitar there and some of the more spacey guitars.
“Michael Rother hadn’t delivered his incredible guitar parts at this stage, so the lead instrument is the SH-101 bassline.
“Thanks for listening!”
