The American rock trio is set to electrify the stage in Barcelona with a live performance at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

In this article, we bring you everything you need to know about the “Loom World Tour” in Barcelona, including the possible setlist to for the concert.

BACKGROUND

Imagine Dragons is a Grammy award-winning alt-rock band led by lead singer Dan Reynolds. The band was formed in 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The American rock band consists of Dan Reynolds as the squad’s lead vocals, Wayne Sermon on guitar, and bassists Ben McKee and Daniel Platzman on drums. The band is a group of misfits who left behind the realistic expectations of family and friends to create a kind of music filled with passion, the type of music that leaves you breathless but wanting more than before.

The band signed with Interscope Records on November 18, 2011, six months after the release of their third EP, ”It’s Time.” The band worked closely with Grammy Award-winning producer Alex da Kid to release their debut album, “Night Visions, on September 4, 2012, which received critical acclaim. The album debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling more than 83,000 copies in its first week of sales and becoming the highest-charting album for a debut rock album since 2006.

Imagine Dragons has released five additional albums and gone on seven tours to promote these albums, which have cemented their place as one of the greatest rock bands to ever do it. The Las Vegas band’s latest album, “Loom,” which was released on June 28, 2024, is an incredible record with a slightly different sound from their previous albums. However, this new sound is a breath of fresh air, and fans around the world are vibing to its tracks.

LOOM WORLD TOUR

The indie-rock band is no stranger to filling stadiums, as their pulse-pounding anthems and euphoric sing-alongs bring fans in their numbers to see the band perform. Imagine Dragons released their sixth studio album, “Loom,” on June 28, 2024, and have been on tour to promote the album. The band’s first show was at Camden’s Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, New Jersey, on July 30, 2024.

The band has performed to numerous sold-out crowds in 2024; one of my favourite “Loom” performances was the November 28 show in Taipei. That introduction just before Reynolds comes on stage to open the show with “Fire in These Hills” gave me chills, the cuddly kind. The eerie, adventurous sounds that accompany this poetic fragrance added to the excitement. “Through distant lands, I see a shrouded form; it tarries there through sun and fervent storm, its promise neither wilt nor rapture bloom but only that it will not fade; it LOOMS!” The screen went blank for a few seconds and was eventually covered by sparkling lights. Encouraged by the audience with cheer, Reynolds comes on stage, the rest of the band is revealed, and the show begins.

Dan Reynolds’s voice was not as silky as it was during the days of the band’s “Mercury Tour,” but he still sounds great and looks great as well. His white vest did little to hide his jacked frame, so fans would hardly notice his aged voice. His energetic moves while the intro for “Thunder” filled the stadium sent fans into a frenzy, and the show kicked off from there.

With a decade-long history of captivating and successful concerts under their belt, Dan Reynolds led his team to numerous stadiums around the world in 2024, performing in 8 countries. The band played more shows in the United States than in any other country, touching down in venues such as the Xfinity Centre, Columbia’s Merriweather Post Pavilion, Dallas, Phoenix, the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, and many other locations.

Imagine Dragons played one show in Brazil at the Barra Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro before heading to the US again for another round of shows. The band kicked off the Asian leg of the “Loom World Tour” in Kuala Lumpur at the Malaysia National Hockey Stadium on November 21. The band played more shows in Thailand, Singapore, and Japan.

The band rounded off their 2024 dates in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on December 28 with an electrifying performance that signified the band’s gratitude to the fans in attendance and worldwide for trekking with them since they began their “Loom World Tor” in July.

THE BARCELONA SET

The new-school rock group will welcome fans back onboard the “Loom” train for another journey around the world. Imagine Dragons will kick off 2025 playing two shows each in Shenzhen and Shanghai. The European dates will kick off at the Ippodromo Sna La Mura in Milan on 27 May.

Furthermore, the band will play several shows in Germany, Prague, and Budapest; they will also perform one show in the Portuguese capital on June 26. The Las Vegas outfit will play in France, Poland, the Netherlands, and Denmark. The tour will conclude at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 25 and 26, to wrap up one of the greatest rock tours.

The Grammy award-winning band will play two shows in Spain, one in Madrid at the Estadio da Luz on 28 June and conclude with only one performance in Barcelona. Imagine Dragons will bring their high energy, colossal beats, and claws filled with universal anthems to the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on July 1. It is the year of the Dragons!

The Barcelona stadium, located in the southwest of the city, is the sixth-largest stadium in Spain, with a seating capacity of 54,367. The stadium hosted The Rolling Stones during their “Urban Jungle Tour” in 1990; Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Bruce Springsteen also played in this iconic stadium.

The concert in Barcelona will be bigger, bolder, and more electrifying; get ready to “dance like cisquo” as Imagine Dragons will be bringing the heat to the Catalonian stadium. Fans can buy Imagine Dragons Barcelona tickets from several online retailers, such as Seatsnet.com.

The setlist for the concert will be carefully crafted to include anthems and deep cuts like “Thunder,” “Believer,” “Eyes Closed,” “Natural,” “Enemy,” or the foot-stomping, folk-infused rhythms of “On Top of the World.” In addition, Imagine Dragons have been known to throw in some surprises, such as acoustic versions of their songs or covers of other artists’ hits. Just be there to feel the excitement and unpredictability of the Dragons.

POSSIBLE SETLIST FOR BARCELONA

Throughout the concert in Barcelona, Imagine Dragons will showcase their musical versatility, incorporating a range of instruments and sounds into their performance. It is important for fans to familiarise themselves with the band’s previous and latest songs from their recent album, “Loom.” The show promises to be unforgettable; deep cuts and back-to-back hits will fill the atmosphere like incense. First, it will fragrance, then it will turn to fire. Get ready to turn up the party with Imagine Dragons.

The band has a medley of tracks to select from to get the crowd moving from the outset. Imagine Dragons has played “Fire in these Hills” as the intro at many of their “Loom” concerts last year. As the concert progresses, expect a seamless transition into some of their most beloved hits, including “Whatever it Takes” from their 2017 album “Evolve.” It was the sixth song the band performed during their concert in Taipei.

Songs from their debut album, “Night Visions,” will also make the setlist for their concert in Barcelona. Their debut single, “Its Time,” can make it to the list; the alternative rock track was the 9th most played track in 2013 in the United States and certified platinum in Spain. Therefore, “Si gusta a España, se quema la incienso” (If it sits well with Spain, they will burn incense to it). Others include the high-energy “Believer” and “Radioactive,” a sing-along special and a fan favourite that will make it to the list. “Believer,” which has that awe about it, is capable of leaving a lasting impression long after the curtain call. A certified encore.

“Enemy,” featuring American singer JID, is the first song on the track listing for the first part of their fifth studio album, “Mercury—Act 1.” The song will leave fans pulsating; the heavy guitar on it will cause a rampage. The track was featured as the lead single on the Netflix animated series “Arcane.”

Imagine Dragons are spoilt for choice, with a packed discography; certainly songs from their recent album “Loom” will make the list. “Eyes Closed” has a rap rock tune; the drums on this tune have a subtle pattern that will make you nod, and the guitar work is understated. The atmospheric synth from the instruments coupled with the hauntingly beautiful voice of Dan Reynolds creates an ethereal effect. Other songs from the album that have a chance on the setlist include the alarm song “Wake Up,” “Take Me to the Beach,” and “In Your Corner.”

A mix of old and new songs will have you doing the Jack dance while your nail tech works on your nails. Fans in Barcelona will not forget the spectacular celebration of music and dance that Imagine Dragons will lay on them; the energy will resonate with them long after the final lyrics of the encore echo.
