Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS tour: Dates, venues and how to get tickets

Olivia Rodrigo

Pop music sensation, Olivia Rodrigo is currently embarking on her widely acclaimed Guts World Tour – her second career headlining tour since she came into the limelight.  The Tour is in support of her second studio album, ‘Guts’ which was released in 2023. It kicked off on February 23, 2024, at Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs.

The 21-year-old previously shattered records in her first chart-topping album, ‘SOUR’ which became the fastest album in history to have all songs certified RIAA Platinum. Recently she’s once again thrilled her fans and music lovers globally with the release of ‘Guts’ which was produced and co-written by her creative partner, Daniel Nigro. The album uncovers new dimensions of her emotional rollercoaster as portrayed in the lead single from the album ‘Vampire’.

The album has been recording high-grossing numbers since its release and as of February, data from Luminate reveals that the three-time Grammy Award winner has seen her catalogue increase by 24% from 15.78 million to 19.62 million and has continued to increase in recent months. Some standout songs from the Guts album include ‘Get Him Back!’, ‘Bad Idea Right?’, and ‘Idea’ have all surpassed over 1.20 million streams since their release.

The young music sensation is now embarking on a tour to promote the album while also thrilling fans with the best sophomore performances. Back in March, a report from Pollstar revealed that Rodrigo’s ‘Guts’ world tour had already crossed $4,233,293 with a total attendance of 27,594 people from just the first two shows. The report further reveals that the first North American leg of the tour grossed $17,274,683 while selling 174,431 tickets.

The ‘Drivers Licence’ crooner sat at number eight in Pollstar’s Live 75 chart with an average gross of $1,500,592 from 13,481 per show.

Born in February 2003, the California native first gained prominence when she featured in the multiple award-winning Disney TV show: “High School Musical: The Musical, where she played the role of Nini Salazar-Roberts.

She acted in the series for two seasons before leaving to pursue a solo career in music. After making a lot of recordings on her social media platforms, her song ‘Drivers Licence’ blew up like a whirlwind across all social media platforms. The song first took off on TikTok before later being played across radio channels and TV stations.

‘Drivers Licence’ deservedly got her plethora of recognition and awards, including Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, MTV Millennial Awards etc. After deliberating on recording an EP to follow her widely acclaimed song, she instead opted for releasing her first full studio album: ‘Sour’.

The album which was released in May 2021 became the biggest debut album of the year when it gained 385 million global streams on Spotify, becoming the most-streamed album in a week by any female artist in history.

Six of the 11 tracks from the album have reached over 1 billion streams on Spotify while two of the songs, ‘Drivers Licence’ and ‘Good 4 U’ have reached over 2 billion streams on Spotify.

Rodrigo has since become the proponent of the ‘Gen Z’ generation, with her lyrical persona and soothing voice resonating with the everyday challenges young people face in relationships and how to overcome them.

She’s now on another record-breaking album spree that has garnered global recognition and some fan favourite artists such as Remi Wolf, Chappell Roan, PinkPantheress and the Breeders will join Rodrigo on stage to delight fans with electrifying performances during the tour.

The pop star wrote most of the songs in her new album when she was 19 years old. Although it has a personal assertion to it,  the album is entirely relatable which is why fans globally will be trooping in numbers to be thrilled by her live lyrical mastery.

Just like most prominent artists including – Coldplay – who are embarking on charitable initiatives for climate and energy preservations, Rodrigo has also initiated a remarkable charitable arm for her ‘Guts’ tour, called ‘Fund 4 Good‘. The initiative is aimed at “building an equitable and just future for all women and girls, through direct support of community-based non-profits that champion girls’ education, support reproductive rights, and prevent gender-based violence”.  A portion of the proceeds gotten from ticket sales will be donated in support of the initiative!”
