milltown brothers release “Grab the Sun” on 25 July, following the release of “Bring It On in May.” Both tracks are taken from the highly anticipated new album Boogie Woogie, released in September 2025.
Boogie Woogie marks a homecoming for the group following a reunion. The album is optimistic, celebratory and utterly infectious – reminding us of what made the milltown brothers such legendary figures in 90s indie.
“Already established as a singalong live favourite, “Grab the Sun2 urges you to live in the moment before darkness falls. So, go on, Grab the Sun and put it in your pocket and carry it around with you, so wherever you go, it goes too…”
Boogie Woogie is released on Friday, 12 September. The album is available on Slate blue vinyl, Brick red vinyl, CD and digital. To launch the release the band are playing a headline slot at Stereo in Glasgow with support from The Muldoons and The Morning Early.
“Recorded in Burnley in August 2024, “Boogie Woogie” is something of a homecoming album for us. In 2023 we decided to rehearse again, hang out and work up some new songs which appear on the record. The positivity from the sessions morphed into number of gigs where we have been amazed at the response from everybody who has attended. Lyrically and thematically, the recordings paint a more optimistic and light-hearted brush when compared to some of our previous independent releases.
The title itself honours Barney’s tattoo which is fabulously emblazoned across his posterior (he’ll be delighted to show anyone who asks). The album was largely recorded live in our rehearsal space at Groove Studios with the wonderful Chris Lewis at the engineering helm. The recordings have captured the live essence of the band and we’re very pleased with the results. Boogie Woogie is a celebration and call to party! We are grateful to have Last Night From Glasgow supporting it.”
