British progressive metal band Tesseract closed the UK leg of their tour spectacularly at the Project House in Leeds on February 15th before heading to the US in May. From the moment they stepped on stage, the energy in the venue was electric. A surge of crowd surfers rode the waves of an ecstatic audience, making it clear that Leeds had been eagerly awaiting this show—and the feeling was mutual.

The setlist leaned heavily on their latest album, War of Being (2023), with each song delivered with precision and intensity. The stage design seamlessly matched the band’s futuristic and ethereal aesthetic, while the lighting elevated the performance, immersing the crowd in a mesmerizing, almost otherworldly atmosphere.

Vocalist Daniel Tompkins was a commanding presence throughout the night, engaging with the audience and expressing genuine gratitude for the warm reception. His vocal range was breathtaking, effortlessly soaring through the highest notes before diving into visceral growls, particularly during Legion. The rest of the band sounded even tighter and more dynamic than on record, proving why Tesseract remains at the forefront of the progressive metal scene.

With each tour, Tesseract continues to push the boundaries of their genre. If this performance was anything to go by, their future is as innovative and electrifying as ever.
