On April 3rd, one of the UK’s most electrifying and uncompromising bands, Skunk Anansie, delivered a thunderous, high-octane performance at the iconic Rock City in Nottingham. The sold-out crowd packed every inch of the venue, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and raw energy before a single note was played.

As Skin, Ace, Cass, and Mark Richardson took to the stage, the roar from the crowd was deafening. From the first beat, Rock City was ignited by a tidal wave of sound and emotion—an eruption of punk-rock fury, metallic riffs, and Skin’s unmistakable powerhouse vocals.

In between songs, Skin took a moment to connect with the audience on a deeper level. With characteristic passion and defiance, she addressed the crowd with a heartfelt speech about “basic human empathy,” calling out the forces in power that aim to divide people based on their differences. “We all deserve to live our lives despite our differences,” she declared, her words striking a chord with everyone in the room. The wave of applause and cheers that followed made it clear—she was giving voice to what many were feeling.
