Djo, the musical moniker of actor, producer, and songwriter Joe Keery (best known as Steve Harrington in Stranger Things), proved he’s no part-time musician with three sold-out nights at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town.

Now deep into a global tour in support of The Crux—the follow-up to 2022’s acclaimed DECIDE, which spawned the viral hit “End of Beginning”—Keery has firmly stepped out of the shadow of his acting career. Onstage, he’s a magnetic presence, exuding confidence and charm without a trace of pretence.

Backed by a slick six-piece band, Djo delivered a set rich in retro-futuristic textures—blending glistening synths, funk-tinged basslines, and irresistible pop hooks with thoughtful, introspective lyrics. Songs from both albums were met with passionate sing-alongs, confirming his status as a serious musical force.

Far from a vanity side project, Djo has carved out a sound and audience of his own. The electric atmosphere and emotional connection between artist and fans spoke volumes—Joe Keery may be known for his screen presence, but on nights like this, the music speaks louder.
