On June 24th, Deftones took over The Piece Hall in Halifax, turning a rainy summer night into something truly unforgettable.
Even before the band stepped on stage, the atmosphere was electric. You could feel the excitement ripple through the packed crowd as fans buzzed with anticipation. And right on cue at 9 pm, the first notes rang out — and the skies opened.

The heavy rain might have ruined most gigs, but here it felt almost cinematic. Instead of running for cover, the crowd embraced it, singing and shouting every word with frontman Chino Moreno. It was one of those moments where everyone felt completely in it together — drenched, euphoric, and alive.
The band powered through a setlist stacked with fan favourites and deep cuts alike. “My Own Summer (Shove It)”, “Digital Bath”, “Change (In the House of Flies)”, “7 Words”, and “Bored” all hit as hard as ever, while newer tracks like “Genesis” from Ohms showed that Deftones are still pushing forward creatively. One of the night’s standout moments came during “Sextape,” where the downpour somehow made the song’s dreamy atmosphere even more hypnotic.

As if scripted, the rain stopped during the final song, giving the crowd one last chance to throw their arms up and scream before the night ended. Soaked but smiling, fans left The Piece Hall knowing they’d witnessed something special. With talk of a new album arriving in 2025, it’s safe to say the excitement for what’s next has only grown stronger.
