Kyle Falconer today previews the March 27th release of his new album ‘Lovely Night of Terror’ by sharing his new single ‘I’m Lost (You’re Dead)’ which features the acclaimed singer-songwriter Jamie Webster.
He launched the album with another high impact duet with Peter Doherty, ‘Midas Touch’, which was premiered by Jo Whiley on Radio 2 and earned a flood of tastemaker attention led by NME.
As ‘Midas Touch’ already proved, Kyle Falconer’s gift for songwriting is just as compelling when he ventures out of his indie-rock roots. With ‘I’m Lost (You’re Dead)’ he steps into the space between the uplifting road trip rock of Bruce Springsteen or Sam Fender and the propulsive energy and melodic flair of the alt-pop world. Both Kyle Falconer and Jamie Webster’s voices intertwine so naturally together in a song which charts how reckless hedonism can be an escape from the chaos that emerges when a cherished relationship appears to be breaking down.
Kyle says, “I showed this song straight away to Jamie Webster who I’m a big fan of, and he said it was right up his street. I feel like we’re both at the top of our range on it and it sounds class. I’m buzzing to perform it live. Sadness sounds sweet!”
Jamie Webster has become one of the UK’s prime singer-songwriters in recent years. All three of his studio albums to date have hit the Top 10, with the most recent, 2024’s ‘10 For The People’ peaking at #2. This summer he will play three of his biggest headline shows to date with ‘A Weekend In Paradise’ at Liverpool’s Blackstone Street Warehouse.
As with the rest of the upcoming album, ‘I’m Lost (You’re Dead)’ was written, performed and produced by Kyle Falconer and Andy Gannon (Courteeners, DMA’S) at Kyle’s La Sierra Casa studio last year. Beyond Jamie Webster and Peter Doherty, ‘Lovely Night of Terror’ also highlights further exciting collaborations with Justin Hawkins (The Darkness), Lottery Winners and Dave McCabe (The Zutons). Thematically it pulsates with Kyle’s ability to craft optimistic songs from often deeply challenging emotions.
