Best known as an MTV Europe presenter, radio DJ (Cool FM), writer, and music tastemaker, John Kearns has also been making his mark on the art world.
Following the success of his stunning art exhibition at the end of 2024 and the previous release of a series of vibrant works the year before, John Kearns is releasing a brand-new selection of pieces entitled “The Mediterranean Collection”.
As the title suggests, the abstract collection is largely inspired by Spain, Italy and France and takes the viewer on a conceptual journey through a series of beautiful images consisting of two original paintings and five limited edition prints. The work is on show from tomorrow, July 8th at Gallery One, 575 Lisburn Road.
This is an interim collection for John, but one that he really wanted to release….
“I suppose if the last proper collection and was a double album, this is more of an EP – like a ‘summer pop’ release. I hope the pieces remind people of their travels and maybe inspire them to explore some new destinations. I only set out to do two or three pieces for this project but once I got further into it, more paintings simply started to happen. I would like to thank the amazing team at Gallery One for their dedication and hard work in bringing the collection to life.”
John’s Mediterranean Collection captures the spirit and romance of sun-drenched day trips and relaxing balmy evenings in the region of Southern Europe while simultaneously creating a timeless and charming allure. The escapism and wanderlust is apparent throughout but each piece also bears its own unique abstract identity.
The works will certainly add a touch of summer radiance to any wall in any home.
