Dutch symphonic metal icons Within Temptation delivered a spellbinding performance at the Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham, on November 19th. The concert radiated a fiery intensity while embracing the cold, gothic elegance that defines their sound. As if on cue, snow began to fall over Nottingham just as the gig kicked off, adding a magical touch to an already unforgettable evening.

Sharon den Adel, the band’s charismatic vocalist, captivated the audience with her soaring vocals and heartfelt words. She spoke about the ongoing war in Ukraine, urging the crowd to remain aware of the human suffering and resilience in the region. This sentiment was beautifully underscored when Ukrainian singer Alex Yarmak joined the band for an emotional rendition of “A Fool’s Parade.”

Another highlight of the evening was the presence of legendary Finnish symphonic metal vocalist Tarja Turunen, who joined Sharon for three songs: “The Promise,” “I Feel Immortal,” and “Paradise (What About Us?). Their voices intertwined with breathtaking harmony, creating a vocal synergy that sent chills through the arena. Fans described their duet as one of the most memorable moments of the night.

Visually, the show was a feast for the senses. The graphics on the screens behind the band were not just a backdrop but an integral part of the storytelling. Each song was accompanied by stunning, thematic visuals tailored to its lyrics and atmosphere, elevating the overall experience.
