Imperial Age Confirmed for Bloodstock Open Air

Bloodstock Open Air

Symphonic metal band Imperial Age has been confirmed for the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air. The band will be taking to the stage in August 2026, showing how fast the band is rising through the ranks, and how their hard work is certainly paying off. They will be joining bands like Judas Priest and Lamb of God.

The Power of Atlantis in A Symphonic Form

A lot of Imperial Age’s appeal lies in its love for the mythical land of Atlantis. This theme runs deeply through their imagery, music, and lyrics. Even though Imperial Age’s main focus is on music, the thematic focus they have on the myth of Atlantis taps into a much bigger cultural obsession.

The BBC, for example have created Atlantis: The Evidence, which looks at the facts behind the world of Atlantis, and on YouTube, documentaries like Beyond Myth: Decoding the Atlantis Enigma are also huge. iGaming also draws on the legend, with titles including Atlantis Sacred Stones, which can be played at a casino online. Titles like this put a spotlight on the mythical world, with a deep-sea setting, and imagery showing a trident, which is a prominent theme in the underwater kingdom.

Imperial Age’s decision to focus on Atlantis was certainly smart, given the renewed interest in the myth recently. With songs like The Legacy of Atlantis, The Wheel, Anthem of Valour, and Windborn, fans are in for a treat.

About the 25th Anniversary of Bloodstock Festival

The metal festival is taking place on the 6th-9th of August, 2026. We also know that there are going to be 120 bands across the four days. Some of the headliners include Judas Priest and Lamb of God, with a special set on Thursday by Saxon.  Some of the other acts on the bill include Evil Scarecrow and Black Label Society. For the first time in Bloodstock history, the main stage is going to open on Thursday, with two Deadliners playing on the VIP stage, Serpent’s Lair. Ticket sales broke records, as they were 90% sold out by late 2025. Last year’s headliners including Gojira, Machine Head and Trivium, and they set the bar high, but it looks like 2026 is going to top it.

Since then, weekend tickets have all sold out, and those who want day tickets will have to sign up for the ticket newsletter in case any extras are released. With confirmed acts for the Sophie Lancaster Stage, including Cryptopsy performing their classic album None So Vile, the festival has done a great job at finding the right balance between upcoming bands, and bands coming back to play older material.

For rock and heavy metal fans, there’s certainly the chance that this will be the biggest Bloodstock festival to date. We could even see some expansions to the village, which is normally home to a number of food trucks and merch stalls. With this year being a special anniversary, it wouldn’t be surprising to see extra additions being made, although right now nothing has been confirmed, and more details will be released closer to the time.

With so much excitement surrounding Bloodstock 2026, it’s certainly an exciting time for metal fans.
