Rise to stardom
Dua Lips splashed into the music industry with the release of her eponymous debut album, DUA LIPA on 2 June 2017. The album was supported by eight singles, “New Rules” which became her first number-one song on the UK Singles Chart, while “IDGAF” and “Be the One” made it to the UK top-ten singles chart. She won her first Grammy Award for Best New Artist and “Electricity” won Best Dance Recording at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.
Other Accolades included the BRIT Awards for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. By and large, the 29-year-old singer has gone on to win 3 Grammy Awards and 7 BRIT Awards and was included in the list of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine in 2024.
Rapid success
Lipa’s second album, Future Nostalgia released in 2020 became her first UK number-one album. Hit tracks that made the album successful include “Levitating” which topped the Billboard Year-end Hot 100 chart of 2021 and was certified diamond by RIAA. “Don’t Start” made her the first British female Artist to have a song stay the longest on the UK top-ten chart. Furthermore, the album earned her a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album and a BRIT Award for British Album of the Year.
Radical optimism album
Radical Optimism Tour is in support of her third studio album Radical Optimism released on 3 May 2024. The album was released four years after her second studio album, Future Nostalgia released in March 2020. Radical Optimism debuted at number one on the UK Album Chart.
The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200. It became the 3-time Grammy Award winner’s highest charting album in the US. The New York Times hailed it as “an album of non-stop ear candy”.
The album had the best opening week for a British female artist, a feat previously held by Adele’s 30. The album was made up of hit tracks such as “End of an Era”, “Houdini”, “Illusion”, “Training Season’, and “Anything for Love”, etc.
Radical optimism tour
On March 19, 2024, Dua Lipa announced the dates for her eagerly anticipated tour including dates for several festival appearances. The tour which began on June 5, 2024, in Berlin, Germany and is set to be concluded in Seattle on October 16, 2025. The tour is already in motion. On the first night in Berlin, Dua Lipa delivered a vibrant and electrifying performance. Although, it seemed that the weather conditions would deter the progress of the show, however, she transformed the stage “into a wet open-air disco, delivering an intricate performance surrounded by dancers”.Jule Lippick of Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg had this to say. And she was dancing throughout the concert. Her energy, charisma and her ability to connect with the crowd was truly commendable.

On May 28, 2024, the ‘Houdini’ singer announced dates for the Asian leg of her tour. The Asian shows kicked off on 6 November 2024 in Singapore before proceeding to other cities in Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand and Korea.
Radical Optimism 2025 dates are set to begin on March 20 at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, Australia at Rod Laver Arena, and is set to conclude in Seattle at the Climate Pledge Arena on October 16.
