The Belfast band Silent Running has been confirmed as a special guest of the multi-million-selling band Texas at their sold-out performance in Custom House Square, Belfast, on Sunday, August 17th. The gig comes just ahead of Silent Running’s own headline show at Voodoo, Belfast, on Friday, October 24th.
In addition to these live dates, Silent Running has announced details of their forthcoming studio album, which remains untitled at present. The album has received generous support from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and The National Lottery.
Lead singer Peter Gamble said, “We’re absolutely delighted to be playing Custom House Square again as guests of Texas, who are an incredible band with so many tremendous songs. We played CHSq in 2022 as guests of Simple Minds, and it really is an amazing venue – not a bad warm-up for our gig at Voodoo in October!”
Peter also confirmed that the band’s fifth studio album has been fully recorded and is on track for a release later in 2025. “We’re really pleased with the album. It was recorded at Earthmusic NI in Belfast, and we’ve tried to make every song unique in its own way. Vic Bronzini-Fulton, who engineered the album, has done a brilliant job, and we think it sounds different and better than anything we’ve done before. We’re just putting the finishing touches to it and sorting out a release date.”
Discussing the upcoming gigs, Peter said, “At Custom House Square, we’ll likely focus on the newer songs – the fast ones – and chuck in an old favourite or two, time permitting. For Voodoo, people can expect to hear a lot of the new album, which has 10 songs, plus tracks from our first album, ‘Shades of Liberty’, like ‘Young Hearts’ and ‘Emotional Warfare’, and songs from our 3 other albums. We have fans travelling from all over the UK and Europe, so we like to give them an energetic show with all the songs they know and love. The atmosphere in Voodoo is always fantastic, and it’s one of our favourite venues.”

Tickets for Texas plus Silent Running at Custom House Square are already sold out. However, tickets for Silent Running’s Voodoo Belfast headline show on Friday, October 24th, where their special guests will be Shock Treatment, are still available on Eventbrite here.
