At XS Noize, new music is dear to our hearts and we believe that genuinely talented fresh artists deserve a platform to share their material with the world. As such, we will now be showcasing one unsigned act every week, hand picked from submissions by Tom Day for the world to hear. Great news for all you audiophiles out there, but more importantly for those who’s voices deserve to be lifted from the crowd.

In his own words: I go by the name of DrawnSword. I’m originally from Munich, moved to London about 7 years ago to pursue music. I’d describe my sound as classical songwriting like The Velvet Underground and The Beatles with a Hip Hop edge and electronic textures. I reckon my work is for fans of, Beck, Gorillaz, Little Dragon, James Blake and Tom Vek and my main influences are Madlib, J Dilla, Gil Scott Heron and The Strokes.

Why Tom chose Drawnsword for the showcase:
I’m a massive Beck fan and his electronic styling on “YYY” immediately reminded me of 2006’s The Information. His vocals are gravelled and off key which works well in this setting. While I don’t usually go for electronica, His downbeat, textured and downright different material kept my attention undivided.
