Described by the BBC as ‘Jump Beat’, The Whereabouts are a young, energetic four piece rhythm & blues, rock & roll band from Kingscourt in Co. Cavan, Ireland.
All four lads in The Whereabouts have been playing music from a very young age under the influence of their parents and bands such as The Rolling Stones, Dr. Feelgood, The Doors, The Beatles, The Kinks and Chuck Berry.

The band formed officially in early 2013 and came to life in July 2013 when they won a local talent competition. From there they entered a national competition. They reached the final of the competition and were placed 2nd overall.

After their success in both competitions (both within a week of each other) they decided to record and release an E.P. The 6 song E.P. (which is available to download on iTunes) entitled “TwentyThirtyThree” contains 3 rock & roll classics plus 3 original songs written by all 4 members of The Whereabouts.

The E.P. was well received by music critics and the public in Ireland and UK and as a result they had various songs from the E.P. played on Irish local and national radio.

Word was beginning to spread about The Whereabouts and, before too long their songs could be heard on The Stuart Bailie Show on BBC Radio Ulster in Belfast, The Dermot O’Leary Show on BBC Radio 2 in London, Amazing Radio UK and Ireland plus a host of European and international radio stations

To help promote the E.P. the band released a video for the title song TwentyThirtyThree which can be viewed below.

In December 2013 the lads released a new, self penned song called Emmalene which also received glowing reviews by fans and critics alike.

The video for Emmalene can also be viewed on YouTube and is available to buy on iTunes.

The news was out, and by January 2014 The Whereabouts were being playlisted on radio stations in the USA.

In Febuary 2014 the band recorded a cover version of the ’60s cult classic ‘Don’t Bring Me Down’. The video which accompanies the song received over 40,000 hits in it’s first week.

In just a few short months The Whereabouts have covered a lot of ground, both musically and geographically having played many live shows around Ireland and the UK.

The band line up is:

Wayne Watters Reilly – aged 17 – Lead Vocals and Guitar

Joseph Adcock – aged 17 – Bass Guitar and Vocals

Scott Sheenan – aged 19 – Lead Guitar

Dara Curtis – aged 17 – Drums
