VIDEO PREMIERE: Vicky Sometani - Come To You

Rapidly garnering critical support and a growing fanbase, London-based and Chicago-born Vicky Sometani continues to pursue a soulfully poignant path. Her journey and building momentum in the world of folk & indie music comes as a result of having gained substantial momentum with debut single ‘Breeze’, and the following singles ‘Perfume’ and ‘Maybe’

Her sophomore EP ‘Come To You’, released via London-based Laid Bare Records, finds the rising artist harnessing the raw resonance of previous releases, delivering pared-down jazz-inflected folk balladry that exudes a frayed, blues-torn tenor. Interweaving rippling fret-scaling guitar dexterity with lyrical finesse, Vicky’s spirit and unfaltering vocals restlessly evoke a blissfully heartfelt scope that issues from each unvarnished note.

The beguiling nature of Vicky’s material has proved instrumental in propelling her emerging status in music circles – an ascent that has seen her secure #4 position on the iTunes singles chart and playlist exposure with BBC Introducing. Recent live sessions with BBC Radio London and Hoxton Radio as well as coverage in Phoenix Magazine have broadened her reach to an ever-increasing range of listeners.

Committed to a sense of consistency and integrity in her songwriting, ‘Come To You’ offers a snapshot of Vicky Sometani’s impassioned focus and prodigious musicianship – elements set to further consolidate her name.

Speaking on the new EP, Vicky states:

These songs are raw and vulnerable expressions of my journey since moving to London, my need for growth, healing, and change, and finding it all through returning to myself through music. I’m so grateful to have had some incredible musicians play on these, adding the soul and groove I was looking for.
