Indie-rock quartet Ralph of London prepares to release their fuzz-filled new single, Dotty, on 19th June 2020. XS Noize is pleased to premiere the video today!

The single oozes with attitude from the offset as frontman Ralph’s distinctively colloquial vocal style is able to soar effortlessly over distorted guitar twangs and woozy synths. Reminiscent of the likes of Super Furry Animals and Pulp, Ralph of London pay homage to their Brit-pop past, whilst also maintaining their own unique style and witty charm throughout. Talking about the single, Ralph explains, “is about a king falling in love with somebody completely unattainable and being driven to madness under the shadow of a fading illusion”.

Ralph of London’s music spawned from the British pop undercurrent, galvanised into its current form as a working live band in the north of France. They formed originally in 2017, between London and Lille, after Ralph met a group of alternatively inclined musicians from France at The Sebright Arms. The group bring together conventional instruments to produce an unconventional sonic tapestry, delivered with sincerity whilst definitely maintaining a sense of humour, highlighting the often uncomfortable realities of urban decadence, drawing material from the constant adaptation to social dynamics both at home and across the border.

With Dotty, Ralph of London hopes to continue to captivate listeners further with their eclectic blend of fun-filled alt-rock.

” The visual counterpart to the track Dotty is a brief glimpse into the fantastic and neo-mythical world of The Potato Kingdom. Here we see some of its most prominent characters come to light within the paradoxical cycle in which they are bound, tinted in the full spectrum of blooming nature, breaking with the black and white tradition that Ralph Of London has adhered to since its beginnings. The unbearable brightness of psychological terror is a light at the end of the tunnel for those who know the abject reality of unrequited love.”
