In September 2020, much-loved singer and writer Nell Bryden returns with Nell Bryden – The Collection, which not only tells her story so far but adds some new chapters.
It gathers all of the independently-released singles that have given her a clean sweep of twenty consecutive playlisted tracks on national UK broadcaster BBC Radio 2. The album also features the new lead single “These Changes,” a song Nell wrote and recorded from her Manhattan home.
“The meaning behind These Changes’ is When a relationship goes bad — toxic, unhealthy and unhappy — but you still feel loyal to your partner and don’t want to break up, what do you do? How do you decide, when there’s two sides to everything, and either way you choose is going to have a bad outcome? The video was shot in my hometown of New York City which I just moved back to after a decade living abroad, so the familiar urban scenes were important to me as a backdrop for this decision I have to make.
The video shows that there are different sides to me that are arguing for different outcomes — the devil and the angel, as it were. The real “me” is trapped in the middle, trying to figure out what to do.”
