VIDEO PREMIERE: MOY - At My Door

MOY’s second single ‘No Talk’s The Best Chat’ elevated the growing profile of the New Zealander led Glasgow band. It earned fresh airplay from BBC Introducing, BBC Scotland and Amazing Radio while also gaining traction across Europe

Now MOY today share the animated video for their latest single ‘At My Door’ exclusively with XS Noize. It demonstrates the band’s versatility, offering something again different to ‘No Talk’s The Best Chat’ and their debut ‘Start Me Up’ and has already been added to key playlists including Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds, Rock”.

Opening with a lurching stop-start riff and full of loud-and-quiet dynamics, ‘At My Door’ feels like a modernised hybrid of the ‘90s lo-fi indie scene and grunge. The vocals on this track amplifies those contrasts, building from the softly vulnerable verses into a full-throated hook. It’s a cathartic way to express lyrics which focus on a relationship with an uncertain status.

“At My Door was written about escapism, a chance encounter with someone significant who takes you to a new place, wanting to return and when you can’t, the reflection and understanding of the truth that is staring you right in the face. that you can’t go back” explains MOY. “We spent just over a month animating the music video for ‘At My Door’, which consists of over 3200 unique hand-drawn images layered on top of each other. There’s a hidden storey woven throughout the animation which shows the track in a different light.”

In the space of just three singles, MOY has emerged as an intriguing proposition. Sharing few details of their background has given them a mysterious, enigmatic quality. But their eloquent wordplay, charismatic performance and distinctive visuals all shine through, suggesting that there’s much more to be discovered.
