VIDEO PREMIERE: Mama Said - Everybody

Northern California based rock band Mama Said unveils their new music video, “Everybody.”

Guitarist Derek Bromley explains, “‘Everybody’ is a celebration of the human spirit and the strength and support it provides when we are able to tap into it. Collectively, it’s been a tough few years. But our dreams have not abated—if anything, they’ve only become more audacious. ‘Everybody’ is a reminder that the courage to grow and transform flows from connecting first to our own higher power.”

Along with Bromley, Mama Said includes Latifa Reeves and Jennifer Knight. Mama Said has a distinctly retro sound inspired by classic rock of the late ‘70s/early ‘80s and the classic rock revival of the early ‘90s.  Their debut album Change in the Weather will be released in Spring 2022.

“Everybody” opens on deep, rounded percussion topped by a cavernous bassline and gleaming guitars. The voices of Latifa and Jennifer blend in delicious harmony, imbuing the lyrics with captivating timbres. Heavy guitars offer thick, hefty leitmotifs, providing the perfect matrix for a pair of deluxe female vocalists to parade their gifts.

Full of tough retro rock savours, “Everybody” hits with a sonic wallop flavoured by voices at once scorching and sensual.
