Today at XS Noize we are very pleased to premiere the new video for ‘with you / for you’ from Prateek Kuhad. Independent songwriter Prateek Kuhad kicked off 2019 with a sold-out 15 date US tour, including a stop at SXSW.
Studying at NYU led to being exposed to the likes of Elliott Smith, Bob Dylan and Fleet Foxes. Prateek tells us that “New York had a sense of freedom in the anonymity that enabled me to be totally vulnerable and become whoever I wanted to be.” This experience developed him as a person and as a songwriter. With a minimalistic restraint, Prateek’s voice yearns for connection in a disconnected world.
This approach clearly resonates, achievements including being awarded ‘Best of 2019’ by both Apple Music and Indie Shuffle, being selected as ‘One To Watch’ by NPR at SXSW, winning an MTV Europe Music Award, taking home Indie Album of the Year honours from iTunes and capturing first place in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition, which helped launch artists such as Passenger to global audiences. Further recognition has come through sessions for Billboard and Colors, who are featuring him on a limited-edition vinyl to be released in August.
