With a performance slot at the legendary Stendhal festival just announced, psych-pop wizard Drew Makes Noise releases his newest track and video exclusively with XS Noize today.
An ode to his then-unborn child, Drew combines his wicked pop sensibilities with psychedelic and alternative production on his newest track. Accompanied by a lyric video that showcases the former Ed Zealous front-mans DIY roots, ‘Baby Blue’ will be released on August 5th ahead of his performance at Limavady’s Stendhal Festival.
“Baby Blue was the in Utero nickname for, at the time of writing the tune, the baby of unknown sex growing in my wife’s tummy. They were so named when they were the size of a blueberry according to those antenatal sites. The moment I wrote the strings piece I knew this song would be a nursery rhyme, meditating on the things I’d like to say to the eventual “he” who popped out. A nursery rhyme carrying a PG certificate. We played the demo version full volume just before baby blue took his leave of the womb, much to the bemusement of the midwife. ”
