VIDEO PREMIERE: Daniel Steer - ‘Monster’

‘Monster’ is the third single from Daniel Steer’s forthcoming solo album due for release in February 2020. The album sees a return to Daniel’s indie rock roots and exudes the optimism of a man who has confronted his demons head-on and has overcome. Dark places are visited and ghosts are exorcised with uplifting, infectious melodies and quirky lyrics.

Songs from the album were previewed live this month at a headline show at Exeter Phoenix and as support for Feeder on their recent tour dates.

Daniel says, “Monster was written about how a bad relationship can turn you both into that person you don’t know or recognize. The video reflects how a relationship breakdown can leave you with a sense of brooding, isolation and displacement. I love that it is retro and surreal at the same time and contrasts with the frenetic energy of the song reflecting that feeling of time slowing down in my head”.
