TWISTED WHEEL release new single: 'Black & Blue' - Listen Now

Not shying away from the major issues today, the band remain as culturally relevant as ever. The latest track is a story of self-medication and depression, coupled with a tribute to the genius of American poet Sylvia Plath. After overdosing on medication, she reflected: “I blissfully succumbed to the whirling blackness that I honestly believed was eternal oblivion”; the same eternal oblivion which has left a seemingly irreparable scar on the lives of young people today who continue their lives under a melancholic sky of darkness and uncertainty. The willingness to reflect upon the issues that universally affect young people including suicide and mental illness through the medium of art is something that the band feel is important to get people talking and inspire those who feel they have nothing left to give.

The band state: “Black and Blue is essentially the story of somebody who has lost faith in everything and everyone, feeling like the world has beaten them down. Despite this, the feel of the track is actually very bright and melodic, giving a strong sense that things can get better”.
