TRACK PREMIERE: Sam Walwyn delivers the captivating new single ‘Mama Plum’

Having already commanded a huge amount of admiration and acclaim for his recently shared singles ‘First Place’ and ‘Littered Sense Of You’ this past year, fast-rising singer and songwriter Sam Walwyn is now looking to keep his run of form going strong as he delivers the captivating new cut ‘Mama Plum’.

With a new EP expected from him later this year, Sam Walwyn is all locked in to make sure this new effort captures more of that rich and soaring aesthetic he is building for himself. The new track ‘Mama Plum’ shows off not only his progressive attitude towards songwriting, but also highlights the bold and effervescent power in his own voice, something that we simply can’t get enough of.

Adding some context to this new release, Sam said, “I wrote Mama Plum when I was 16 and it finally feels like the right time to release it.  I snuck out of the house through my window and ran along the street to the nearest field where I sat in the middle of it and started writing what later turned into Mama Plum. This song reminds me of growing up in Jersey. Growing up exploring, surfing and getting drunk in the woods. My friends and I weren’t popular enough to go to all the parties so we made our own fun which ended up making the best memories ever! This song reminds me of those times.”

With a huge viral following already backing him every step of the way, Sam Walwyn is primed to become one of the most talked-about new artists of the moment. Support from BBC Introducing and 100k followers online just shows that there is something very special about this emerging frontman.

Sam Walwyn looks set to release his forthcoming new EP on 29th October this year, and you can listen to his incredible new single ‘Mama Plum’ BELOW:
