Steel City rockers Royal Honey introduces a brand-new single, “Cut-n-Run,” a track lifted from their forthcoming EP via The Vault Records.

Based in Pittsburgh, PA, Royal Honey is made up of Bobby C (vocals), Davey “Nine Fingers” (guitar, vocals), Greggy Velvet (bass), Eric “Ginger Honey” Rodger (guitar, vocals), and Angel O (drums, vocals). Since their formation in 2018, the band released their debut EP, Hype, Money and Misbehavior, and has shared the stage with Kix, Faster Pussycat, Y&T, The Plimsouls, Quireboys, Bang Tango, Little Caesar, Spear of Destiny, and Little Man.

Written by Davey “Nine Fingers,” the song belies its title. According to Davey, “It’s actually not about cutting and running. It’s about sticking with something or someone despite thinking initially that it might be short-lived.”

Guitarist Eric adds, “It’s about dodging the punches and finding a way to move forward. It’s a good swinging tune to get people to get up and shake their asses.”

Opening on sleazy, bluesy guitars reminiscent of the down-and-dirty rock of the ‘70s, “Cut-n-Run” rolls out on thick wah-wah flavours topped by rasping, snarling vocals, infusing the lyrics with textures of too many cigarettes and too much whiskey – the kind of music stumbled across in popular dive bars where the patrons insist on swaggering, grimy rock n’ roll pumped out with brio. On “Cut-n-Run,” Royal Honey flaunts hefty, ferocious old school rock with beaucoup visceral flair.
