Bristol-based songwriting duo Foreign Affairs deliver the powerful, anthemic new single ‘Make a Move’ today. The follow-up to April’s massive ‘Rosanna’ and its acoustic counterpart. ‘Make a Move’ shows a slicker side to the Foreign Affairs coin. Full of raucous energy, it’s a potent piece of songwriting with hints of Americana and rock & roll songwriting.

Penned by brothers Adam and Lawrence, the single is a surefire summer anthem thanks to its rustic plucks of acoustic and licks of electric guitars. Flush with cheeky, catchy lyrics and thoughtful production flourishes, ‘Make a Move’ is a confident step forwards both in songwriting and lyrical acumen. “Rip a couple letters out my book, baby, because I know you’ve been dying just to turn a couple pages” Lawrence belts alongside the purr of his brother’s guitar, their rock’n’roll and blues inspirations present and correct.

The single follows the Indie ballad ‘Rosanna’, which received ample radio play, including in regular slots with Whispering Bob Harris, Dermot O’Leary and on BBC Radio Scotland.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the new single, the duo state

“Writing ‘Make a Move’ was an opportunity to show the bold and energetic elements of who we are as ‘Foreign Affairs’. It’s a switch from the more reflective and introspective singles that we have been releasing recently. This is definitely a statement of confidence about our originality and that we feel we have something different to show the world. ”
