Today XS Noize is pleased to premiere 'Warzone' from Benedict. A wildly melodic track that takes flight with striking vocals, tantalising electronic percussion and a seductive euphoria. Hailing all the way from Australia, Alt-Pop singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Benedict translates experiences of heartbreak, love, social observation and justice into her melodic artistry. Echoing a sound that falls in-between the lines of Kate Bush and Prince, the singer is soon to send waves through the battlefield with latest offering ‘Warzone’, set for release on Friday 31st July 2020. Growing up in a creative household, Benedict has had music flowing through her veins from a very early age. Taking inspiration from influences including Joan Baez, David Bowie, Janis Joplin and Queen; the singer began to mould her own vocal stylings and writing. A turning point for the singer was when she started to work as a prison guard in Melbourne. Tackling a mentally challenging job, Benedict saw many people in her local community suffer at the hands of a system without solid rehabilitation. Deciding to step away from her 9-5 grind, Benedict took inspiration from these first-hand experiences and poured them into her music. Now, she has a newfound purpose as an artist; where she strives to fight for her community and act as a voice for those who may not have one. Layered with eerie sirens and a crisp pulsating melody, upcoming track ‘Warzone’ sees Benedict project a nostalgic 80s/90s pop influence through her sound. Her gracious vocals robustly explode with such ease. Produced by Australian producer Dean Tuza, the new number explores the many different relationships that an individual will experience, and the life lessons that each one brings. Focusing on the fact that some relationships are like a warzone, the new number emboldens the strength to find self-worth through dark times, resulting in the ultimate victory. Discussing her new single, Benedict tells us: “Warzone shares a story of the deepest of suffering through the worst experiences. But, when you feel you cannot go on and you are drowning in torment, there will ALWAYS be a light at the end of the tunnel. There will always be an end to the suffering. All you need to do is look at yourself, love yourself, and see your true worth. As your life is worth something and important. When you can see that even in the hard times, you will be ok. My warzone has been many different relationships with partners, friendships, family, religion, government, my childhood.
