TRACK PREMIERE: BELONGING Returns with New Single ‘ALL I CAN HEAR’ - Listen Now

Following support from Radio X and blog buzz for his 2018 singles, London singer-songwriter Belonging returns today with a brand new track. The pulsating and anthemic All I Can Hear mashes up pop-punk hooks to 80s synths and pounding drums, and the song crackles with unpredictable, jittery electricity.

“The seed of this song came from walking back home at 2am, from the late shift or nights out – it’s the whole ‘you don’t know a city ‘til you’ve walked it’ thing,” explains Belonging, AKA Chris Patrick. “The things you see and overhear in the night time can be very different to the day, there’s a whole different character there – almost another secret world going on. Feeding into that, I’d just started my first “proper” job, so was feeling a bit overawed – am I supposed to be an adult now? What exactly does that mean? Should feel any different, because I don’t?”

Big on choruses, home-made slogan t-shirts and nervous energy, the last year has seen Belonging branch out from North London bedroom-pop origins to become a fully-fledged live act. Taking in indie, pop, grunge, electro and folk influences, and drawing comparisons with Foals, Blur, Everything Everything and Wolf Alice, recent songs On & On and Lo & Behold have been championed by Radio X’s John Kennedy, and he’s supported the likes of Catholic Action, Wooze, Everyone You Know and Misty Miller.
